Agricultural center of the low
Cilento, Paestum is actually one
of the most famous archeological
center.
The wall of the town are
pentagonal and it has four big
door, the most interesting is "Porta
Marina".
The three dorics Temples are the
best architectonic complex of
the "Magna Grecia", the old rest
is the "Basilica" and the more
fascinating is the "Poseidone".
Poseidonia of legendary fame was
founded by greeks from Sibari
later brought under subjection
by the Lucanian tribes who held
it to ransom.
Other architectonics rest are:
The "Foro", some urban quarters,
and rest of religious buildings. |
