Originally a small picturesque fishing village on the Amalfi coast, it has grown into a major international tourist centre because of its modern accomodation facilities, fine beach and good restaurant.
A pyramid of houses fall from the Lattari mountains. To go trough the village there is only one little street and stairs. In front of Positano, the Galli island, residence of the sirens, mitologic figure alf women alf fish.
To visit, the church of Saint Mary Assunta, with its big dome with ceramic mosaics.
